Below are the contract terms for the currently offered Foundation Membership - the New Wave - available until 29 July 2025:
1. The Foundation Membership is a discounted membership, billed fortnightly in advance, exclusively available to members who have signed up before Gecko Climb officially opens and begins trading. The initial payment made upon sign-up represents the first fortnight's membership fee, which will cover the initial two weeks once the gym opens to the public.
2. Foundation Members will receive written notice of the official opening date of Gecko Climb and the subsequent activation date of their membership. The second fortnightly payment will be debited from the provided payment method exactly 14 days after the gym opens (e.g., if $63 is paid at sign-up, the next payment of $63 will be debited two weeks after opening)
3. This is a 12-month contracted membership commencing from the gym’s official opening date. Upon reaching the 1-year anniversary, this membership will automatically transition to the standard fortnightly price for the adult 12-month contract as advertised on Gecko Climb’s website at that time, unless otherwise notified.
4. The membership can be paused free of charge by sending an email request. Members can pause their membership for a maximum of three fortnights (6 weeks total) during the 12-month term. These periods can be consecutive or separate.
5. Pausing the membership will extend the duration of the contract by an equivalent period. For clarity, paused periods will be added to the end of the original 12-month term.
6. If at any time during the initial 12-month term you wish to cancel your membership for reasons other than those outlined in condition 7 below, a $150 cancellation fee will apply. Alternatively, if you wish to transfer your membership to another individual, a $25 transfer fee will apply. The transfer must be requested in writing via email and approved by Gecko Climb prior to completion.
7. You may terminate this membership during the initial 12-month contract term by providing four weeks' written notice via email without incurring a cancellation fee if: o You permanently relocate to an address outside the Greater Darwin Region, providing appropriate evidence such as proof of new residence. o You sustain an injury or medical condition preventing participation in rock climbing or bouldering activities, supported by a medical certificate. o You request cancellation within the first four weeks following the gym's official opening date (grace period).
8. After completion of the initial 12-month term, membership will automatically continue on a fortnightly billing basis at the standard membership rate. If you wish to cancel after the initial 12-month term, you must provide four weeks' written notice via email.
9. Foundation Memberships include one complimentary guest pass per week. Each guest pass is only valid for a first-time visitor to Gecko Climb, and the member must be present with the guest upon redemption.
10. Gecko Climb reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions with 30 days' written notice via email.
11. Members agree to comply with Gecko Climb’s House Rules, the content of the liability waiver and safety policies as communicated on the website and/or displayed in the facility.
12. Gecko Climb reserves the right to suspend or terminate memberships immediately without refund if the member breaches the gym’s House Rules, liability waiver terms or safety policies.
13. Members under 18 years of age require parental or guardian consent upon membership registration.
14. Memberships and guest passes are non-refundable, non-transferable (except as explicitly stated), and cannot be exchanged for cash or credit.
